Dying from the cold….let CryoStor keep your cell lines and primary cells alive for the long-term!

There's strength in numbers. Tell a fellow scientist.

Wondering whether the cells in that vial you just thawed will ever “come back” after 5 or 10 years storage in liquid Nitrogen.

Will you have to wait weeks to see anything grow or just be disappointed with a culture flask full of dead cells?

CryoStor comparison Make 2012′s New Year’s resolution that I will freeze my cells with CryoStor cell preservation/freezing medium.

BactStor: Don’t loose your hard work and bacteria plasmids

There's strength in numbers. Tell a fellow scientist.

Experimental studies in molecular biology involving transformion of Escherichia coli and Bacillus subtilis assume that the recombinant plasmids are stable. However bacteria stored in stab-cultures or on nutrient agar can encourage phenotypic changes in the transformed bacteria.  Limiting growth media can promote plasmid loss by imperfect segregation of plasmids into daughter cells (segregational instability) or promote a reduction in bacteria plasmid copies (deamplification). Bacteria containing large-sized plasmids can have reduced fitness in nutrient-limiting culture conditions to promote segregational instability, plasmid rearrangement or a reduction in plasmid copy number (1).

Smith, M.A.  and M.J. Bidochka.  1988 Bacterial fitness and plasmid loss: the importance of culture conditions and plasmid size. Can. J. Microbiol. 44(4):351–355.

BactStorage allows for the recovery of viable cells after more than 15 freezing and thawing
cycles and after at least 10 years storage at -70-80 oC.
